As the pages of my life continue to unfold, my passion for the arts is constantly evolving. Age adds complexity, greater appreciation, and opens new avenues to explore, including my Hispanic heritage.
I work in clay; easy to the touch and pliable. Mind, matter and the muse cooperate to carve, shape, and mold until you are at one with the earth. Most of my pieces are textured to expose the material.
Sculpting is a dance, sometimes fast and often slow, pulling energy from the clay, the model, and my intentions. I hope to capture the gesture, explore the body's positive and negative space, and utimately the emotions expressed by its form. The human body in all forms is exquisite, beautiful, and my constant inspiration.
